From Quentin Beaver, former owner of Fort Salem Theatre

I obviously didn't see Brigadoon ... I have gotten e-mails and phone calls saying nothing but wonderful things. The most important remarks from Gene [Sholtens] ... After playing over 30 years on Broadway, ... he loved it. He said Tim was magnificent, as was his leading lady. They alone were worth the evening.

So congrats to [choreographer] Maureen [Pagano], [director/star] Tim [Nelson], and all who contributed their talents.

Thank you so much for helping to sponsor the inaugural Susi Shoes benefit on May 22nd when Fort Salem Theater came alive with great wishes for Olivia Brown.

What a beautiful evening! Thank you both for all you did to ensure the success of the 7th annual talent trials. With your beautifully appointed room, comfortable seating, air conditioning on a muggy evening and great technical ability, your theater is obviously the perfect venue for our production. I was thrilled to see the room filled to capacity and guests enjoying themselves.

I truly appreciate your support and kindness. Your transformation of the theater has provided so many wonderful opportunities for our area.

From Wine, Woman & Song, on the road in Walpole, NH

The overall feeling was extremely positive on all three of your emphases: the Wines varied nicely in taste, bouquet, and representation--both geographically and by type. Some selections obviously we enjoyed more than others (differing on several, but that's to be expected). Lynne (Woman) is an extremely talented vocalist: marvelous voice that reminds me of Rebecca Kilgore. And we enjoyed the Song choices very much; several classic, obscure ballads that also carried your theme. (Jay, playing Dave Frishberg to Lynne's Rebecca, provided excellent background piano.) Production values (lights, sound, and pace) were most professional.

From Nathan Lucrezio, producer/performer in The Best of Broadway (2008)

... I don't remember when I last spoke to you but I hope you know that I am playing Al in the national tour of A Chorus Line. We just had our opening night in Houston two days ago and it was awesome! You can check out the website at I think back on a lot of the lessons I learned through working with you and the shows we did and all of that experience is helping me tremendously! Working out in the professional world is humbling, exciting, thrilling, and hard hard work. Yet I love every step of it. It's pushing me to think of what I want to do next, what I stand for, and how I handle myself in this crazy world. I think of home often and the lovely opportunities I had there along with the great people I met along the way. I still take pride in those projects and people from a couple years ago and I'm gonna keep that creative fire going!

  To Fort Salem Theater

Dear Jay and Lynne,

Before we look forward to the Fall Cabaret series, we wanted to again express our applause to you for offering such an outstanding summer series. We experienced the youthful energy and breath of the music of the Surf City Singers, the realism and clever music of Corn, the upbeat romance of They’re Playing Our Song, and the inspiring Third Annual Talent Winners’ Cabaret with the witty narrator. What variety, what terrific weekend entertainment, what commitment to quality productions for our community to support and enjoy! Thank you for your vision and gift of music.

From the parents of a second-year student in Summer Workshops 2009
Good Morning Jay!

Well, you've done it again! Meghan is on top of the world. Of course, it has turned our world upside down. Her college aspirations have been turned on their ear. As you know, she was only looking at a straight theatre program. Now she has altered it to be musical theatre. We really are thrilled. You promised us that we would be surprised and we were - she shocked us both!

Thank you again for all of your hard work. We hope to see you again next year!

Hi Al and Jay,

I just wanted you to know how much Faith and I enoyed Corn! The Musical. I can imagine that it was hard to pull off a musical that's not quite up-beat, but you did it. It was just right and very touching and real. The words and music fit together perfectly. You guys are a gift to the community. Keep up the good work!

Hi Jay,

I just wanted to drop an e-mail by to thank you once again for giving me the opportunity to work on Corn! It was an honor to work on such a new and original piece. In addition, it was quite nostalgic and sentimental to be working in Fort Salem again. I really enjoyed my time in this production. Thank you for letting me be a part of it.
