Fort Salem Theater in Salem, NY, announces a second collaboration with Long Trail School in Dorset, VT. Following a two week Rock and Roll Camp at Long Trail for which Fort Salem provided the staff of three professional musician/educators, Long Trail will sponsor Fort Salemís musical revue, The Young Divas, which plays on the Fortís Mainstage Friday and Saturday, July 31 and August 1, at 8 PM. The Young Divas are three young ladies from Washington County: Andrea Green from Greenwich, Abigail Imhof of Cambridge, and Salemís own Jessica OíKeefe.

From the Italian for divine, a diva is a performer whose instrument transcends the mundane. These three such uniquely talented local young women, each embarking upon careers in musical theater, sing blockbuster songs, together and as solos, in a musical romp that celebrates variety and vocal power. The divas are joined for a few numbers by a special guest, gifted twelve-year-old divus, Brendan Dailey, of Saratoga.

With a repertoire that takes on the establishment divas, such as Mariah Carey, Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli and Barbra Streisand, The Young Divas give their take on the clasics, including "The Man That Got Away" and "Don't Rain on My Parade." Young Dailey performs pop songs and some show tunes, notably an Elton John number from the current Broadway hit, Billy Elliot.

Green has just received her degree in theater from SUNY New Paltz and lives in New York City, pursuing a career in the professional theater. Imhof, Cambridge High Class of 2008, is matriculating at Adirondack Community College, having attended classes on-line last winter during her Army Reserve training in Germany. O'Keefe recently was featured in the all-professional cast of Fort Salem's original production, Corn! The Musical. She has appeared in numerous shows and musical programs at the local theater starting at an early age. Dailey made his debut in Salem in the original production, A Christmas Carol: A New Musical.

Tickets for the Mainstage production are $25 for adults and $15 for youth, age twelve and younger. For more information and/or reservations, call the Fort Salem box office at (518) 854-9200.
